Celebrate World Bee Day in the heart of Perth!

Join us on 20 May at Murray Street Mall to celebrate the incredible honey bee—our vital pollinator and a true hero of food security around the world.

This special event brings together key organisations from across the WA bee industry:

🐝 The Bee Industry Council of WA (BICWA) – the peak body representing WA’s beekeepers and honey producers, working to support and grow a sustainable industry.

🐝 The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) Biosecurity Team – supporting WA’s strong biosecurity systems that protect our bees and the environment.

🐝 The APC Beekeepers Committee – representing WA beekeepers through the Agricultural Produce Commission, supporting industry development, promotion, and protection.

🐝 WAAS - supports hobbyist beekeepers in WA through education, training, events, networking, and promoting responsible beekeeping practices.

🐝 Y-Trace – supporting honey authenticity and traceability through advanced testing and tools, helping producers strengthen market credibility and consumer trust.

Representatives from all groups will be at the stall throughout the day—ready to chat, answer your beekeeping or biosecurity questions, and share their passion for bees.

Enjoy local honey tastings, support WA beekeeper honey sales, and take the opportunity to learn more about the important role of bees in our environment and food system.
